RPSV is blessed with an extensive 12 volume Forgery collection. Only one volume relates to Australia and Australian States with a further three volumes covering GB and the British Empire. Many other countries are represented in the remaining eight volumes. Sperati forgeries are well represented, including Sperati’s 2 Pound Kangaroo, with the confirmatory BPA stamp on the reverse. For a number of items genuine stamps are mounted alongside the forgery. In the main the contents of the collection were donated by members over the years and some of these are of stamps that received negative opinions by the Expert Committee. By prior arrangement anyone visiting Purves House can view selected parts of the collection. Additions are always welcome.
